PlayStation 5 Getting Promising Historical RPG in 2027

PS5 is getting a promising new historical RPG set in 2027, publisher Justdan International has announced. Tianji: Shadow of the Ancients is brought to us by the mind behind the Xuan-Yuan Sword series. It’ll also be available on the Nintendo Switch 1 & 2 and PC. An Xbox version was not announced.

PS5 RPG Tianji: Shadow of the Ancients is set in Tang Dynasty

Set in the Tang Dynasty, Tianji is a turn-based RPG that fuses classic RPG mechanics with a combo-focused battle system. Check out a trailer below:

Players will step into the role of protagonist Shangguan Shuo, who suffers from amnesia.

“On a journey to reclaim his past and true identity, he will explore the landscapes of Bashu and a mysterious millennium-old subterranean city, gradually becoming entangled in the massive conspiracy of the mysterious Xuanxin Order,” the plot reads. “Set during the turbulent Tianbao era of the Tang Dynasty, the story of Tianji: Shadow of the Ancients begins as the Imperial Court’s secret organization, the Tianji Guard, investigates a millennium-old ruin in Bashu.”

A release date for Tianji has not been announced, but we’ll keep our readers posted.
