Capcom has announced that the free demo of its action game Onimusha: Way of the Sword has surpassed three million downloads. It reached this milestone in half a month, with two million downloads registered on August 14.
The demo was updated late last month with a new area and boss battle.
In Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Musashi is a samurai who finds himself wielding the Oni Gauntlet. His goal is to slay demons known as Gemma, fiends from the lowest depths of Hell, manifested as Malice.
The Oni Gauntlet remains a core mechanic, allowing players to absorb enemy souls mid-battle to restore health and unleash devastating special moves. Gameplay footage showcases the combat system, highlighting one-on-one duels, counterattacks, and environmental interactions that add additional layers to encounters.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword is available on Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
