Trails In The Sky SC Remake Makes Creepy Change To An Enemy Type

Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter reviews dropped earlier today, and by all accounts, it's looking like yet another spectacular remake, this time of a game that is widely regarded as the best in the series. As a massive Trails fan, it's great to see these titles updated for modern audiences, and with those updates come some unexpected changes that could even surprise series veterans.

One of these changes in Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter comes in the form of how one particular enemy behaves, as Falcom has done something so horrifyingly devilish that it makes the remake worth getting all by itself.

Why Is Falcom Making My Trails Game Spooky

First reported by PC Gamer, the enemy in question is The Faerie Epitaph, which was in the original game and looks like a rather creepy melted angel statue turned to life. These could be found in the overworld or would attack you after opening a chest, but in the remake, they don't actually move at all when you spot them in the world.

The creepiest part about them is that they only move when you're not looking at them, much like the horrible Weeping Angels from Doctor Who. PC Gamer shares a video of this happening, and trying to navigate a dark rocky tunnel with a Faerie Epitaph chasing you down while your back is turned sounds like something out of a horror movie.

It's a cool and unnecessary detail that Falcom has added to the remake, but it's great in that it gives a rather standard monster from the original a lot more personality, whilst also scaring the willies out of someone who might not know there's one sneaking up behind them. Then again, you don't get to be the highest-rated game of the year without that kind of attention to detail.
