Halloween is over, but that doesn’t mean that the creepy fun should be too. Sleepytime Village is publisher Dionous Games and developer Lightfoot Bros Games’ latest hand-drawn point-and-click adventure set inside a haunted children’s storybook.

Point-and-click adventure Sleepytime Village is available on Steam and GOG. There’s also a 20% launch discount running until November 13th, 2026. The game originally started as a graphic novel, and is actually spooky rather than gory. The atmosphere is unsettling, emotional, and absurd, with a darkly funny narrative.

The game follows Rufus, a workaholic dad. He’s so caught up in the whole rat race of providing for his family that he doesn’t really notice how much damage he’s doing along the way. One day, he wakes up inside a strange children’s storybook world called Sleepytime Village.

Rufus finds himself haunted by the village’s residents, a mysterious formless narrator, and some uncomfortable visions of his own childhood. Now he’s got to figure out how to escape.

Point-and-click adventure Sleepytime Village sounds like a proper fever dream

You get more than 70 hand-drawn playable scenes, including a toy cemetery, underground catacombs, the village square, and the domains of the sun and moon. There are melancholy toys, sentient furniture, and all sorts of unnerving creatures wandering around.

You have to work through dozens of interconnected puzzles using over 100 collectible objects, clues, and secrets. The story has multiple endings depending on the choices you make. And it’s a full-length, voice-acted adventure, featuring professional voice performances and an original musical score.
