Onimusha: Way of the Sword Sold 1 Million Units on Launch Day

Onimusha: Way of the Sword launched last week on Nintendo Switch 2, and to say the game has been a success would be something of an understatement. In just a day, Capcom has revealed that Onimusha has sold over a million units at retail. That’s quite a comeback for a franchise that hasn’t gotten a new installment in 20 years!

It’s delightful news for Capcom, certainly, which has had a 2026 to remember. From Resident Evil Requiem to Pragmata and more, Capcom has been on fire with good games and good sales. The company isn’t done yet, either, as Dragon’s Dogma 2 is also coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 9, 2026. Congrats to Capcom on a successful launch.
