A kingdom with a troll problem needs a knight with a sharp sword and a good sense of timing. Troll Slayer is a new 2D pixel art platformer from Head Bear Games, challenging players to venture into an infested forest and clear out the creatures threatening the realm.
Available in separate versions for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows PC, each priced at £4.19, this is a budget-sized adventure with a straightforward objective: get past the hazards, learn your enemies’ tricks and survive the journey.

A Sword, A Forest And Plenty Of Trolls
Troll Slayer keeps things simple. The forest near the kingdom has been overrun, and you’re the knight tasked with putting things right. Getting through it means jumping across dangerous terrain, avoiding deadly traps and taking on different varieties of trolls.
Those enemies don’t all behave in the same way, so charging in with your sword swinging isn’t necessarily the best approach. Learning their attack patterns and choosing the right moment to strike will be key to making progress.
Can You Clear The Forest?
With its pixel art presentation and emphasis on platforming, hazards and enemy encounters, Troll Slayer looks to offer a compact challenge for players who enjoy old-school action games. There’s no elaborate premise to untangle – just a forest full of trolls and a knight who needs to get the job done.
Troll Slayer is available now for £4.19 on Xbox Series X|S (optimised), Xbox One and Windows PC, with each platform offering its own version from the Xbox Store. Basically, pick the one best for you, or take home all three and enjoy triple the Gamerscore and achievements.
If you’re in the mood for a small-scale platforming challenge that puts timing and enemy patterns first, Head Bear Games has a kingdom in need of your sword.
